This tournament has benefited the American Heart Association since its inception in 1995.

My father passed away back in January of 1995 of a heart attack. I have had trouble understanding why he died and I regret that I did not become close to him while I was growing up. I know how important he was in my life but I waited too long to realize this. I do not want this to happen to other children. This is the main reason I hold this tournament every year. I want to give back to someone else that I could not give to my dad. I have had great memories of my dad, but I feel this tournament will keep them alive for years to come.
